How to Leverage Social Marketing Features in ODOO 17
In today’s business landscape, social media has become an essential tool for companies to engage with their audience, raise brand awareness, and drive revenue. Its value stems from its ability to facilitate direct communication between businesses and consumers, breaking down traditional barriers and fostering genuine connections. Businesses can use platforms such as Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, and LinkedIn to showcase their products or services, share valuable content, and collect feedback in real time. Furthermore, social media offers valuable insights into consumer behavior and market trends, allowing businesses to tailor their strategies more effectively. In essence, leveraging the power of social media is no longer an option, but rather a requirement for businesses seeking to remain competitive and relevant in today’s dynamic marketplace.
The Social Marketing module in Odoo 17 is a powerful tool for managing and implementing social marketing for any type of business. It comprises Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, Twitter, and YouTube. This module allows us to manage multiple accounts and streams in one place.
Let’s look at the features of the Odoo 17 Social Marketing Module.
Feed Menu
When we open Odoo 17’s social marketing module First, we can see the Feeds section. Feeds provide a brief overview of our various social media platforms. We can use the “Add Stream” button to link a new social media account. Odoo 17 provides connectivity to Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, Twitter, and YouTube.
Now let’s look at how we can add a new stream to the social marketing module. Before adding a stream, make sure you’re logged in to the appropriate social media platform. For example, to connect to a Facebook account, log in and then click the “Add Stream” button.
I’ve added a Facebook page and a YouTube channel for demonstration purposes. Select social media from the wizard and grant all permissions to connect the accounts.
If it connects successfully, we can gain insights from the various platforms; previous posts are listed in the feeds section, and you can get a quick overview of each post, including post content, title, posted date, likes, comments, views, shares, and so on. The “New Post” button creates new posts directly from Odoo, while the “Sync” button allows for real-time sync between various social media platforms and Odoo. We can manage likes and comments from within the post preview.
We can search for posts based on the message, add filters, group by options to filter, and sort the posts as desired.
Posts Menu
In this menu, we can view all of Odoo’s posts and create new posts by clicking the “New” button. The left side panel allows you to manage posts based on their status and social media accounts.
Now, let’s look at how to create posts from Odoo. Click the “New” button.
We can see the different stages of a post: draft, schedule, posting, and posted. In this demonstration, I’ve connected two social media accounts: a Facebook page and a YouTube channel. So there are two sections: one for Facebook posts and another for YouTube channels. In the “Posts on” field, both checkboxes are checked, indicating that the post will be shared on both platforms. You can choose the platforms you need. The “Message” follows, serving as the post’s title. In “Attach Images,” we can upload the post image; if this post belongs to a specific campaign, we can create a new campaign or select an existing one.
The next field is “When,” which displays the posting time, whether it is posted immediately or scheduled for a specific date and time. When we select the “Schedule Later” option, a new field appears where we can enter the desired date and time to post the content.
The following section belongs to the YouTube channel. First, we can specify the video title, video description (including paragraphs, hashtags, and mentions), and video privacy (public, unlisted, or private). Then, upload the video to the “YouTube Video” field. After you’ve uploaded and processed the video, click the “Post” button. Now the post is available on both platforms.
We can manage clicks and engagements for posts using the posts menu. We can search for posts based on their message, author, or campaign. You can use filters and group by options to control the posts in these views and switch between them, which include Kanban, calendar, list, and pivot. The default view is Kanban.
Campaign Menu
The campaign menu comes next. To attract more people to our business, we can create social media campaigns based on any event or program and post content accordingly. We can create campaigns by specifying a campaign name, a responsible person, and tags for filtration. Custom stages can be added to the campaign by selecting the “+ Stage” option.
Configuration Menu
Configurations for social marketing are completed in the Configuration menu. First and foremost, we can access our social media platforms from here. Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, Twitter, and YouTube are all possible platforms to connect with Odoo. Use the Link Account button to connect to the appropriate social media platforms.
The next tab is Social Accounts, which allows us to manage all of our connected social accounts in a list view. Details such as name, handle / shortname, social media, and the person in charge are visible.
Finally, in this view of social streams, we can see a list of social streams with information such as social media, title, type, and responsible person.
So these are the features of Odoo’s Social Marketing Module. It was an excellent platform for managing multiple social media accounts from one place.
